Thing #4

RSS feeds : Done.
It's been weeks since I've been here, & I was wondering when I was going to find the time to READ about RSS feeds, never mind do them. After talking to Lauren today, she told me a quick & easy way to add them to a blog (which Laurie had talked about in the meeting this morning). So there they are, off to the right-- no orange RSS button, (I'm wondering why not?) but it links to the feed anyway. I really didn't want to create another account with Bloglines so I just added them to my Google account.

Wow. That took all of 30 seconds. Thanks to both of you for simplifying my life!
Another one bites the dust.

Great website

I don't know why I didn't think of this before (who doesn't like NPR?) but their website is great, especially the music section: npr.org/music/ I think it would appeal to most everyone. Check it out! (They also have a blog)

Learning 2.0

You can probably tell by the title page that I'm not a huge fan of blogs. For the most part, I think it's a matter of "too much information", often pointless and unnecessary information at that. Being a private and somewhat modest person, I don't feel the need or desire to share my innermost thoughts and feelings with random strangers. Nor do I think anyone would be that interested in what I have to say, anyway. Having said that, I understand that blogs can serve a useful purpose, and the good ones can provide relevant information and (even) enjoyment. I personally prefer to remain anonymous and a voyeur when it comes to blogging. I enjoyed checking out other staff members blogs, but only because I'm already acquainted with them and so am interested in what they might have to say. But the bottom line, for me, is the time factor. The amount of time it can suck out of your life is amazing! We all lead such busy lives, and blogging is a huge time drain (in my opinion), that I'd prefer to be doing something else in my spare time (like I have any to begin with)...
